The University of the Arctic is sad to announce the loss of UArctic Council Member Alexey Cherenkov, Head of International Relations at the Murmansk Humanities Institute.

The Bachelor of Circumpolar Studies offered by Bodø University College enjoys more popularity than ever before at the co-operating University of the Arctic institutions Murmansk Humanities Institute and Pomor State University in Arkhangel.


UArctic and one of its Norwegian members, University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS), are singled out to receive stronger support in the recently announced state budget in Norway. This happens as, in general, higher education institutions are faced with cuts in their budgets.


GoNorth! representatives headed to Basel, Switzerland to hold a stand promoting the GoNorth! Erasmus Mundus Project at the 18th annual European Association for International Education (EAIE) conference, from September 13 to 16.


The University of the Arctic's (UArctic) Circumpolar Studies Program (BCS) will be sending an intern from Canada to work in Russia this fall. Ofelas bridging programs

UArctic's Senior Management Group and Executive Committee (Ofelas) are meeting in northern Sweden to discuss the strategic development of UArctic and its programs.

The University of the Arctic (UArctic) International Secretariat in Rovaniemi has welcomed two interns from Canada at the beginning of October : Alexander Stubbing, from Iqaluit, Nunavut, and Dominique Naud, from Quebec City, Quebec.

Over 30 representatives from University of Tromsø faculties and administration gathered to discuss the various programs and activities of UArctic and how Tromsø, one of the founding members of the organization, can broaden the scope of its involvement in UArctic.
