This October our thematic network in social work in UA conducted the digital micro course on “Social Work in the Arctic.” The 3-credit course gave the students an introduction to three important topics to social work in our part of the world: Social Work with Indigenous peoples, Social Work and climate change and urban and rural social work. Approx. 15 students participated. To be able to fulfil the exam, one had to be accepted as a student on this course. But the lectures and seminars were open, which meant that also others participated in lectures and seminars.

Through 2,5 hours every Thursday in October students from all over Arctic participated and got an overview over important social work issues in our part of the world. This course, that was offered in a cooperation with Nord university in Norway, will hopefully be conducted also in 2025.
