Newly published Policy Recommendations, written by emerging leaders at an Arctic Policy Hackathon, address how to keep next-generation leaders in the Arctic.
Policy Hackathons see emerging leaders discuss a specific policy issue and create tangible solutions using their lived experience. The Hackathon, organized by The Gordon Foundation, Global Affairs Canada, and The Arctic Mayors’ Forum, brought together young leaders from Arctic Indigenous and local communities in Alaska, Canada, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and Sápmi. Following the Hackathon, the policy recommendations were shared on a panel at the Arctic Circle Assembly and participant Megan Dicker Nochasak spoke to Saltwire about the experience.
