During the second and final day of the business segment at the 18th meeting of the Council of UArctic, members of Council approved six new UArctic Thematic Networks, joining the existing set of 27 networks.

The Jean Monnet Summer School on European Union and the Law of the Sea will be held in Imperia, Italy on 31 August - 11 September 2015. The summer school is a joint initiative of the University of Genoa and ISRIM. Application deadline: 30 June 2015.

The ArcticNet Network of Centres of Excellence of Canada and its partners are pleased to welcome the Arctic research community to Vancouver for the 11th ArcticNet Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM2015) to be held from 7 to 11 December 2015 at The Westin Bayshore in Vancouver, British Columbia.

During the first day of the 18th meeting of the Council of UArctic, members of Council approved the nomination of twelve new members to the University of the Arctic (11 Arctic members, and 1 non-Arctic member). This now brings UArctic’s total membership to 176.

The Council of UArctic, made up of representatives of its members, begins its 18th meeting in the unique setting of Ulan Ude, Buryatia, Russian Federation. The meeting takes place from June 14-17, and is hosted by Buryat State University.

The European Commission invites legal entities registered in the European Union to present proposals for the 2015 Call for proposals for LIFE Action Grants. The call covers proposals for both LIFE sub-programmes; Environment and Climate Action.

Interreg Europe 2014-2020 has opened its first call for proposals. The call is open from 22 June until 31 July 2015.

Open Seminar on Indigenous Education in the Arctic will take place on 10th of June in the Sámi University College, Norway. The seminar is organised by UArctic Thematic Network Verdde: University Center for Mobility in Indigenous Education.

The Gerda Henkel Foundation invites research project proposals for its Special Programme on Security, Society and the State. The call is open until the 4th of December 2015.

Starting in spring 2016 the Arctic Technology Centre of the Technical University of Denmark offers the Arctic Semester in Extreme Engineering, an opportunity for master-level engineering students to experience the unique environment and the challenges of engineering north of the Arctic Circle.
