Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands have a thriving, world-class education culture, in which everyone is given the opportunity to pursue their own unique potential.

Studying on the Faroe Islands allows a unique experience as the location provides beautiful landscapes whilst getting an education. The Faroe Islands average weather forecasts are, due to the effects of the Gulf Stream,  between 0-10 degree Celcius. The weather cannot be predicted, it can be stormy as well as a thick layer of fog over the small islands, or majestically still picturesque sunny landscapes. However, the uncertainty of the weather can leave unique and beautifully portrayed landscapes imprinted in the total experience.

The education system is based on the belief that everyone should have equal access to educational attainment, and this means that all levels of education, from primary school to higher education, are available to the whole population for free.

The University of the Faroe Islands is the country's higher education institution.
