Finnish Social Science Data Archive (FSD)

The Finnish Social Science Data Archive (FSD) is a national resource centre for research and education. It's mission is to preserve data collected to study Finnish society, people and cultural phenomena in the long term.

The Finnish Social Science Data Archive (FSD), an independent institute of the Tampere University, Finland, is a national research infrastructure for social sciences and related disciplines, such as health sciences and humanities. The FSD archives, promotes and disseminates digital research data for research, teaching and learning purposes. Most of the datasets are available to registered users, but a growing number are available under the CC BY license without registration. All services are free of charge. The FSD is also the national service provider for CESSDA, the Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives. The FSD archives research data from the arctic area in Finland and the current data collections already contain such data. Browse the Aila data catalogue at: https://services.fsd.tuni.fi/?lang=en. More information on depositing data in the FSD: https://www.fsd.tuni.fi/en/services/depositing-data/.

FSD promotes open access to research data as well as transparency, accumulation and efficient reuse of scientific research. FSD also responsibly implements the FAIR data principles, which aim at making data and services Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Re-usable. FSD has been awarded the CoreTrustSeal (CTS) which is granted to an organisation that preserves digital research data in a reliable manner and enables the reuse of data.
