According to him, the program for training experts who can become leaders in the field of education, culture, ecology and sustainable development of the regions of Siberia and the Far East was founded in 2014 as part of an interstate program to support research and educational projects between universities in Japan and Russia.

“Discussion on the preliminary results of the Russian-Japanese educational program RJE3 will be held during the COLD LANDS seminar. We will summarize the program’s work from 2014 to 2019 and outline development paths. Graduates of this educational program are expected to speak” - said Mikhail Prisyazhniy.

RJE3 works in the following areas: biology; ecology and nature management; regional economy; construction and architecture in regions with a cold climate; preservation of cultural diversity in the Far East and the Arctic.

"Representatives of five key universities are participating in the project from the Russian side: North-Eastern Federal University, Far Eastern Federal University, Pacific State University, Irkutsk State University and Sakhalin State University" - said the speaker of the seminar.

Northern Sustainable Development Forum is being held in Yakutsk from September 24 to 28, representatives of eight polar states (Russia, Canada, the USA, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark) and North-East Asia (China, South Korea and Japan), as well as delegations from Ministry of the Development of Far East and the Arctic of the Russian Federation, investments agencies of the Far East, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Kamchatka Krai and Khabarovsk Krai.
