This project has got a grant from NOS-HS The Joint Committee for Nordic Research Councils in the Humanities and Social Sciences and the goal is to organize three workshops. The workshops aim to support new research areas’ development. These workshops serve both educational and informative purposes, enabling researchers to transmit their knowledge in ways that are tailored towards a target public. The main aim of the proposed project is to establish a Centre of Excellence in Indigenous Pedagogy at University of Lapland.

The project is led by University of Lapland and the university partners are UiT-Arctic University of Norway, Sámi University of Applied Sciences and Umeå University. The project has also other local partners: doctor Inker-Anni Linkola-Aikio from Sámi archieves, and NGO representant anthropologist and traditional knowledge keeper Jorunn Eikjok.

The project is part of activities of UArctic Thematic Network on Teacher Education.
