Leading out of the discussion from the Opening panel, the day begins on the issue of Education and training in the Arctic with a plenary panel of representatives of six Arctic indigenous peoples organizations, Permanent Participants of the Arctic Council. The discussion is facilitated by the Chair of the Council of UArctic, Liisa Holmberg and the President of UArctic, Lars Kullerud.

Another theme taken from Finland's Arctic Council chairmanship priorities is gender equality. A keynote discussion on "Gender perspectives on path dependency" by Rasmus Ole Rasmussen (Senior Research Fellow, MAP-SCAN, Roskilde, Denmark) follows as the next plenary. 

A plenary session on the theme of Environmental Protection follows in the afternoon, with an introductory introductory speech "Environmental pluralism in the Arctic: stakeholder’s view by Yulia Zaika (Lomonosov Moscow Sate University, Russia, ISIRA Group of IASC) and the main keynote address "From Cold War to Arctic Meltdown" by Lars-Otto Reiersen (Senior Advisor at the UiT The Arctic University of Norway).
