The day will be split into two sections, starting with a symposium focusing on Arctic research that supports decision-making. The aim is to increase cooperation between academia, political decision-makers and public servants. In the afternoon there will be a seminar on the objectives of the Nordic countries' Arctic cooperation and on the preparation for Finland's forthcoming Chairmanship of the Arctic Council. In this session, the discussions will benefit from the results of the morning symposium.

Researchers are invited to propose 1-3 themes for discussion for the morning symposium, deadline for proposals is June 10th. The Prime Minister's Office will then decide on the programme of the symposium on the basis of the suggestions and will send a separate personal invitation to the researchers who will be invited. In addition to the discussions, the participants have an opportunity to submit a poster for presentation.
