The dialect is mostly spread in Kalevalsky and Lokhsky districts of Republic of Karelia. The dictionary contains modern widely used terminology and the most typical idioms of the Russian language, for which Karelian equivalents were found.
The dictionary is supposed to be useful for students, journalists, researchers and for those, who are interested in Karelian language and culture. The publication will be spread in educational and cultural institutions, and also will be distributed among people, who learn or interested in Karelian language.
