«Window of possibilities» is an opportunity to define the approach for support of indigenous peoples of the North who are also interested in the specific economic development, because of their identity. Now there are 8 indigenous ethnic groups in 6 municipal divisions of our region», noted Vladimir Kozlovsky, Head of the Agency for Northern Development and Support of Indigenous Peoples of Krasnoyarsk region.

As a result of the Conference, participants developed proposals and recommendations on the development of the northern territories and on improving the quality of indigenous people’s life of Krasnoyarsk Territory.  And thus SFU together with the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Region are required to develop regulatory and legal support for establishment and development of traditional natural resource use territory in the Krasnoyarsk region and to develop more territories of traditional natural resource use as pilot projects.

Besides, the University will enhance research works connected with the development of indigenous peoples’ life quality. SFU will develop methodological support of studying the native languages and domestic reindeer herding and training as well.
