INTERACT project acted in 2011-2014 and was extended for another year to complete unfinished studies and work. At a meeting in Warsaw, participants discussed the main tasks and activities in preparation for the application in 2016 for INTERACT II. During the project the number of participating field stations has increased from 33 to 77. More than 5,000 scientists from different countries studying changes in the Arctic have been involved in the work. All this gave a solid foundation for cooperation continuation within the network of INTERACT.

The participants also discussed the idea of automate stations to collect all the research and data, in order to avoid possible duplication of work that has already been carried out. Also it will help to ensure that everyone (representatives of the scientific community and others) will be able to learn about the activities of field stations.
