Increased economic activity has led to growth and optimism in the Arctic.

Fish has been an essential resource for the people living in the Arctic for hundreds of years and will be for hundreds more.
The rapid climate change leads to new opportunities, but also challenges in the Arctic. The fish keep swimming further north and the Arctic waters get introduced to new species.

Our seminar “Sustainable Fishing in the Arctic” will explore the potential of marine resources for Europe.
The emphasis will be on the developments in the Arctic and the potential in European funded research for sustainable exploitation of marine resources.

The seminar in Brussels is organised by North Norway European Office, in collaboration with Mission of Norway to the European Union and Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries.
