Initiatives attached to the Nordic Climate Day may be included in applications for the Nordplus Framework Programme.

The climate is the main priority of the Nordplus Framework Programme 2009. Applicants to Nordplus Junior, Nordplus Higher Education, Nordplus Adult and Nordplus Horisontal are therefore encouraged to develop climate projects.

Activities and initiatives linked to the Nordic Climate Day may be included in applications for the Nordplus Framework Programme. For example, schools which have already planned projects on climate co-operation can take part in the Nordic Climate Day with their project.

A web portal, www.klimanorden.org, will be launched as a tool box for climate teaching material for the whole Nordic Region.

The web portal will contain an overview of Nordic co-operation, events and activities in the Nordic countries, as well as theme pages, blogs, competitions and interactive educational courses. www.klimanorden.org will be launched in March.

The web portal will be in the Nordic languages and partly in English.

Participation in the Nordic Climate Day will be open for everyone.

The primary target group for the Climate Day is pupils, apprentices, teachers and trainers in primary and secondary schools, continuation schools and further education in the Nordic countries, as well as Nordic and Baltic participants in the Nordplus Framework Programme.

Registration will only be available after the application to Nordplus has been submitted as the application deadline is 2 March.

The Climate Day will be launched on 11 November but work with projects and activities can take place both before and after the day.
