Sami University College, the International Centre of Reindeer Husbandry, GÁLDU, the Norwegian Sami Parliament Language and Education Centre as well as Sami Archives will be housed under the same roof, perched on the hill overlooking Kautokeino. "This is an extremely important step for the Sami community," says Anders Eira, sharing his excitement with Andy Greenshaw, vice-chair of UArctic's Board on visit in Kautokeino.
The new building will be inaugurated during Sami University College's 20th Anniversary celebrations in the first week of November 2009. Stay tuned.
