Nizhnevartovsk State University

Nizhnevartovsk State University (formerly Nizhnevartovsk State University of Humanities) is one of the leading universities in Khanty-Mansiyskiy Autonomous Okrug- Yugra, the region of great importance in terms of national economics. The university has developed rapidly in recent years and nowadays it represents an advanced institution that comprises 9 faculties and 23 academic departments which have established reputations for excellence and innovative programs granting Bachelor and Master degrees. NVSU has a student body over 5000 and strives to provide them with practice-oriented knowledge at the cutting edge methodology.

NVSU has asserted position of a regional center in the field of international cooperation among KhMAO-Yugra Higher Education Institutions. It has set up and comprehensively promotes the structures for the development and management of international cooperation. NVSU has a strong international and research focus with links to HEIs and organizations across the globe. Apart from cooperation agreements, NVSU is involved in a range of international and research projects with about 20 international institutions from all over the world. NVSU actively develops concepts and approaches to advance the University’s work within the network of internationally active partners. It led to active modernization of NVSU academic models in order to provide up-to-date academic services for Russian and foreign students. Quite recently NVSU acquired a status of a federal university (classical Russian university) and at the moment is undergoing a large-scale modernization of educational and research process, innovation activities and infrastructure according to 2020 development programme approved by the Russian Government.
